Samaritans reminds Islanders of support
Forget blue Monday!
That’s the message from the Samaritans on what has been dubbed the most depressing day (January 16) of the year.
Post-Christmas bills, failed fitness programmes, broken New Year’s resolutions and cold weather are all outlined as factors.
The Samaritans in the Island is urging locals to remember if things are getting tough and you are finding it hard to cope, there’s someone to listen confidentially 24 hours a day.
Samaritans director Gill Porter is reminding Islanders if they feel overwhelmed, or know someone who is, to call them on double one six, one two three (116 123).
