Former minister spells out problems
A packed meeting in Douglas last night heard a former minister warn the Island faces catastrophe unless government undergoes major reform.
East Douglas MHK and former policy and reform minister Chris Robertshaw addressed a gathering of the Positive Action Group.
His talk “Towards smaller, smarter government”, laid out the problems he says the Manx government faces.
Roger Tomlinson of PAG says in particular, four issues were highlighted:
Main road between Peel and Douglas to shut for tree felling
'Targeted and intelligence led approach' to protect Island's borders during Irish sailings
Airport Director role advertised with top salary of £120,000
Traders on Michael Street feel 'abandoned' by politicians in tough times
