Four arrests after MER cable is stolen from Baldrine

Police confirm enquiries are ongoing

Four people have been arrested in connection with the theft of overhead electric railway cables from Baldrine.

Police say they’ve also recovered a quantity of cable which belongs to the Manx Electric Railway.

A quantity of cable is still outstanding.

The repair work to the tramlines - which were damaged when an oversized vehicle attempted to drive under the wires - could cost £5,000

Enquiries are ongoing - officers have asked anyone with information to contact them on 631212 or via Crimestoppers on 0800 555111.
