Pasties and peas raise over a grand
Volunteers fighting for the future of a Ramsey landmark have raised over a grand with pasties and peas.
A supper organised by the Queens Pier Restoration Trust over the weekend raised £1,212 towards the £1.5 million needed to refurbish the Victorian wonder.
In a separate fundraising initative, suporters of the Trust can also now 'sponsor' individual planks of wood, starting at £10.
It's hoped substantial works can start on the pier in March.
Speaking last week, project leader Tom Durrant said he wanted the restoration to stay community-funded at its core:
DoI to move to monthly dredging in order to protect harbour depth
Oie Voaldyn: 'Our event is not cancelled'
Last chance to enter 2026 Parish Walk
April: 'Warm, dry and sunny' says Met Office
