Further tests prove to be negative

Two being treated in hospital for Coronavirus

Chief Minister Howard Quayle has revealed a further 206 Covid-19 results were negative from 210 samples.

Using his Twitter account yesterday evening, he praised the swabbing team and says the other four results will be available today.

The latest government figures show there are six active cases on the Island with two of those being treated in hospital.

The number waiting to be tested stands at 1,065 which includes those booked in for the day 13 test of the new self-isolation regulations.

The increase in demand is also due to a person testing positive after completing their quarantine period and having visited several venues.

At a media briefing yesterday, Mr Quayle says the first results give some room for optimism:
