Former health minister responds to chief minister's remarks in Tynwald
The former health minister has hit back at comments from the chief minister in Tynwald this morning, after Alfred Cannan accused Lawrie Hooper of gaslighting the Island's parliament.
Mr Cannan told the court the Ramsey MHK had fabricated claims he wants to privatise the health service, and described Mr Hooper's resignation speech as a "stitch up".
Mr Hooper, who isn't in Tynwald today, has responded on social media, labelling the comments as a "pretty desperate last ditch attempt" and "absolutely incredulous behaviour from someone who is supposed to be a leader."
The Liberal Vannan leader goes on to ask whether ministers are prepared to stand behind "someone who behaves like this."
