GCSE results out today - but pass rate expected to fall

The GCSE pass rate is expected to fall when Island students receive their results this morning (Thurs).

Nearly 900 pupils at the Island’s five secondary schools will find out how they’ve fared.

But it follows a warning from the exam regulator that results may not be comparable with previous years, due to stricter marking standards being imposed.

However, Co-ordinating Advisor for 11 to 19 Education, Paul Craine, says even a dip in grades should not detract from students’ efforts.
