'Good decision' on GCSE 1-9 grading

DEC pleased with decision to reject iGCSE

Government made the right decision to reject the UK iGCSE grading system.

That message from School Improvement adviser, Joel Smith.

Some students do take iGCSEs on Island, but after extensive consultation, the Department of Education and Children decided against the change.

It compared Manx provision with others in the British Isles, and said they didn't measure up.

Mr Smith adds that the decision to stick to A to G grading means teachers and students here won't struggle with unnecessarily 'improvements':
