Government 'well behind' on registering buildings says campaigner

Three heritage sites put forward for protection

A campaigner says government is falling well behind when it comes to protecting buildings of heritage interest across the Island.

It's as the Cosy Nook in Port Erin, Trafalgar House in Douglas and The Mitre in Kirk Michael were put forward for registration this week.

If approved they'd join around 250 buildings on the list protecting them against demolition or significant changes without consent.

Charles Guard stepped in with others to protect Trafalgar House when it was under threat of being knocked down.

He says government must invest in bringing the Island's registered buildings list up to date:
