Courthouse lacks gravitas says MHK
The swearing in of the Island's next Lieutenant Governor should take place in Castle Rushen - that's the view of Arbory Castletown and Malew MHK Graham Cregeen.
Last year the current Governor Sir Richard Gozney was sworn in at Douglas Courthouse, after Manx National Heritage deemed the medieval castle unfit for purpose.
Mr Cregeen says the Courthouse lacks the proper gravitas and the ceremony should return to the ancient capital, ensuring traditions continue.
He told Manx Radio it would be a shame for the Island to loose this part of Manx heritage:
Island's finances 'in a better position than most other jurisdictions'
Completion of assisted dying bill 'the most significant moment of 2025'
Keep dogs away from Garwick Beach for next few days
Cost of sending a letter on the Island to increase in January
