Gov't confirms second death from coronavirus

Chief constable to pay tribute to former police officer

The Isle of Man Government has confirmed there's been a second death from coronavirus on the Isle of Man.

Former police officer Richard Lloyd, who was 57 years old, passed away in the intensive care unit at Noble's Hospital yesterday.

A further news release from the Chief Constable will be issued later this morning.

Since the last update, at four o'clock yesterday afternoon, there has been just one further test result received, which was negative.

The total number of confirmed cases of coronavirus here therefore remains at 226.

212 patients have been instructed to self-isolate, and 12 are being treated at the hospital.

The contact tracing process is already underway led by Public Health.

There have been 1,929 concluded tests, 59 people are awaiting results and 83 people are awaiting tests.

In total 129 individuals are presumed recovered.
