Govt to reduce Family library funding

New 5-year deal agreed

The Isle of Man Government is to gradually reduce financial backing for the Family Library.

A new deal's been agreed to support the facility on Westmoreland Road, Douglas over the next five years with an initial grant of £125,000 being paid out in August.

That annual sum will be shrunk to £65,000 by 2026.

Terms of the agreement also requires the Family Library to find alternative income from elsewhere.

The Government's pledged £475,000 to continue the Mobile, Children and Home Delivery Library services.
