Gov't wants your help to broaden refugee policy

6-week consultation begins today

Government wants to hear your views on the Island's future stance on refugees fleeing places of conflict.

A consultation has opened today to explore your views on how the Isle of Man should broaden and update its refugee policy and what support and services should be offered to those fleeing conflict.

Since March, the Island has welcomed more than 100 Ukrainian guests through initiatives such as the Isle of Man Homes for Ukraine Scheme, following Russia's invasion of the country.

Government now wants to learn from this experience and prepare a broader refugee policy to be debated in Tynwald next July.

The consultation will be open for 6 weeks, until 13 December.

You can find the consultation here.

Alternatively, written comments can be emailed to jasmine.cowin2@gov.im or by post to Jasmine Cowin, External Relations, 3rd Floor, Government Office, Bucks Road, Douglas.
