Stu Peters to call for referendum at next week's Tynwald sitting
Removing the Island's net zero policy 'would leave the island without direction at the very moment it matters most'.
That's according to the Isle of Man Green Party, which is 'strongly opposing' a motion tabled for next week's Tynwald sitting.
Middle MHK Stu Peters is calling for a referendum on whether or not the policy should be abandoned to be held alongside the 2026 House of Keys General Election.

But the Green Party says the net-zero target 'gives clear direction to government departments, public bodies, local authorities and businesses'.
They argue scrapping it would 'drive up future costs, weaken our resilience and limit our ability to protect households, infrastructure and our natural environment from changes that are already unfolding'.
In a statement issued online, the party says 'the Island's net zero policy is not a virtue signalling global gesture, it’s a local shield'.
