Cllr Falk Horning says more than 3000 bins have been delivered
Douglas Council says the garden waste collections have been 'successful' for its first few years.
The Chair of the Environmental Services Committee says composting it on Island is cheaper than if it's burnt.
The collections start this month and will run through the year until November and bins can be requested from the council if residents want them.
Councillor Falk Horning says over 3,900 bins have been delivered to residents.
