Health, and road safety to feature in Tynwald debates

Twenty-four questions for oral answer

There's a relatively short Tynwald order paper for this month's sitting, but there are a still some weighty issues to deal with.

Members are due to be updated on the independent review into the Island's health and social care system

That will come from the treasury minister, whose department commissioned the review, which is being carried out by Sir Jonathan Michael.

The conclusive findings of the report are due to be published in the spring.

Meanwhile, a report into mental health services, complete with seven recommendations on how to improve them, will be debated.

That's been put together by a committee headed by David Cretney MLC.

Approval will also be sought for the Department of Home Affairs' new road safety strategy, which aims to cut serious and fatal collisions by 40% over the next ten years.

And there will be a combined vote on the future of public service media in the Isle of Man.

It's after an amendment put forward by Tim Baker MHK was narrowly defeated at last month's sitting.
