Affects those under supervision of social care with no close family on Island
The health minister's admitted there's a "gap" when transferring a person, under the supervision of social care, to a nursing home when they have no close family or power of attorney.
In the House of Keys yesterday (31 January) Douglas South MHK Claire Christian highlighted an issue one of her constituents is facing.
Currently social workers are able to help fill the necessary forms in but can't make the applications on behalf of anyone.
Lawrie Hooper said whilst he is working with Treasury on the issue, it's complicated:
MHKs agree to progress Bill removing Bishop's vote from Tynwald
Government adopts definition of antisemitism
Douglas road shut due to falling roof tiles
Plans for silt disposal at former mine rejected
