Health minister to 'crack on' with Island Plan objectives

Despite document not yet being debated by Tynwald

The health minister says his team will 'crack on' with work streams identified in the Island Plan – despite it not yet being approved by Tynwald.

Lawrie Hooper says whilst slightly 'nervous' about proceeding he'd rather be criticised for doing something than doing nothing.

This week plans to debate government's vision for the next five years stalled after eight MHKs opposed discussion of the document.

Mr Hooper says public debate is a 'fundamental part of democracy':
