Health minister tries to justify trip to New Zealand

The health and social care minister has been trying to justify to the House of Keys an upcoming trip he and his chief executive are taking to New Zealand.

Howard Quayle says the fact finding mission will help them study the healthcare system developed in the region of Canterbury, which, according to him, is seen as a world leader.

Mr Quayle told members he and Mark Charters would be off-Island from March 21 to April 14, at a cost, so far, of almost £7,800.

He says it's also a chance to form partnerships at economic, political and social care levels
