Author has been giving evidence to a Tynwald Select Committee on the topic

The author of a bespoke dyslexia policy says it was 'heartbreaking' when it wasn't properly implemented across all the Island's schools.

Chartered Educational Psychologist, Dr Joyce Monroe, was commissioned by the Department of Education, Sport and Culture to write the report in 2012.

Speaking to a Tynwald Select Committee on Dyslexia, Dyscalculia, Dyspraxia and Dysgraphia, she says while it was officially implemented, it was never enforced or followed up.

Dr Monroe says it was hugely disappointing:

Manx Radio has asked the Department of Education, Sport and Culture for a response.
