'Heat is our biggest enemy' says British Heart Foundation volunteer

Jill Pugh is encouraging those facing challenges to attend 'confidence boosting' event

A volunteer with the British Heart Foundation is encouraging those with heart conditions to not be limited by the challenges they face - but instead to 'have fun and exercise'.

Jill Pugh suffered with a heart condition for 50 years before she was given an actual diagnosis and was able to fully understand why she felt the way she did.

However, with the hot weather that's being seen on Island and in the UK - she's warning against over exertion and urges those with family who have conditions to check on them.

Manx Radio's Christian Jones spoke to Jill:

Jill is raising awareness for a Paracise event aimed at bringing those with heart conditions and their families together.

The event is scheduled for 16 August at Glencrutchery School Hall from 18:30 - everyone is welcome to attend.
