Help wanted revitalising Villa Marina Arcade

DESC seeking interest in five units

Government is looking for help to revitalise the Villa Marina Arcade in Douglas.

Five of the nine units in the Art Deco building are available to rent, with the Department of Education, Sport and Culture seeking expressions of interest.

Officials say all proposals will be considered for the vacant spaces, which range in size, but could be combined to create larger units.

Previously they've been filled with an art gallery, restaurant and barber's shop.

The rents range between £3,800 to £15,000 and don't include bills.

DESC's head of the Villa Marina, Gaiety Theatre and the Arts Emma Callin says the intention is to revive public engagement at the arcade.

The deadline for interested businesses to get in touch is midday on Friday 12 March.
