HMS Ramsey decommissioned

Ship bell to go on public display in town

A naval ship with close Manx ties has been given a final farewell by the Royal Navy.

HMS Ramsey, along with HMS Blyth, was officially decommissioned during a formal service at Rosyth Dockyard in Scotland this week.

Both Sandown-class mine countermeasures vessels have supported operations in the Middle East, around the UK or on NATO duties over 21 years.

HMS Ramsey's bell is to be presented to the town of Ramsey for public display.

The vessels will undergo further work before being transferred to the Ukrainian Navy.
