Cost of specialist equipment also rising at above inflation level
The Department of Home Affairs says it's been impacted by significant inflation on items it needs to provide its front-line services.
Minister Jane Poole-Wilson believes the 24-hour nature of some operations has left it 'very exposed' to rising energy costs.
Meanwhile the cost of specialist equipment needed has risen above CPI over the last 12 months.
