Hospice sets out new strategy for year ahead

Its chief executive admits he is ambitious for the service, but acknowledges the facility must be sustainable

Hospice provided care services for almost 50 percent of all deaths on the Isle of Man last year.

It's released the figures as it sets out a new strategy which sees care provision, high performance culture, awareness and financial sustainability as its top priorities.

The service relies heavily on its 400 volunteers and fundraising methods to meet the near £7 million needed to run the facility.

But that's just to maintain the service to its current level.

The organisation's Chief Executive John Knight is ambitious to grow its operation - but only if it can be carried out in a 'measured' way:
