Health minister defends pay as recruitment incentive
Government pays hospital consultants on average around £43,000 more than what they receive in the UK.
Health Minister David Ashford provided the figures in a Tynwald answer to a question from Speaker of the House of Keys Juan Watterson.
The average amount paid on the Isle of Man for full-time hospital consultants in the last year (2020-21) was £190,000.
Mr Ashford says the Island has to do what it can to attract qualified individuals:
Doctors accept three-year pay offer
Seven acts promulgated in final Tynwald Day ceremony before election
Sharp rise in data breaches on Island, says Information Commissioner's Office
Footage circulating on social media 'now an active investigation'
