Government is trying to ascertain exactly how much - if at all - the TT contributes to the national economy.
Businesses, charities and other organisations are being invited to take part in a consultation, which will form the basis of the first ever economic impact assessment of the Island's annual motorcycling festivals.
Some of the costs and benefits are already known, for instance, an additional £840,000 per annum spend by the health department, and an additional £200,000 bill for policing.
But it is hoped gauging the impact of the festival on local operations will provide a fuller picture.
It's being conducted by the Cabinet Office, in response to recommendations made in the wake of the Vision Nine scandal.
The confidential online survey closes in a month's time (18 May).
