Orsted and Manx Utilities working on solution to bring windfarm electricity onshore
Orsted and Manx Utilities are continuing to work on a solution to bring power generated by the proposed Mooir Vannin windfarm into the Island's electricity grid.
The majority of the electricity that would come from the 87-turbine development is expected to go to the UK market.
Hearings are taking place this week looking at a various aspects of Orsted's application, including marine infrastructure.
Manx Utilities Interconnectors Manager Steve McGhee told the panel the authority will need to know more about the cables and voltage from the development before it can determine how to bring the power onshore:
