A popular Edwardian holiday destination is set to be transformed into a luxury private home.
Planning permission has been granted in principle for a lavish residential property of over 20,000 square feet on the site of Howstrake Holiday Camp at Groudle.
The location housed the first holiday complex of its kind in the British Isles, a WWI internment camp, and later a Royal Navy training base.
Vacant since 1973, the area is flanked by Groudle Glen and the Manx Electric Railway.
It is advertised on an estate agent's website with price on application.
