CEO Mark Woodward explains South Korea choice
Isle of Man Steam Packet CEO Mark Woodward says Hyundai Mipo Dockyard in South Korea is the "best possible builder" for the new purpose-built vessel.
It was announced at the end of last week a contract had been signed to construct a replacement for the Ben-my-Chree.
The new ship is expected to start operating in Spring 2023.
Mr Woodward says the decision to go with Hyundai was "driven by risk" with the yard currently delivering close to a ship a week:-
