ICT academy will safeguard the sector's future

A new scheme encouraging youngsters into information technology will help ensure the Island’s future as a high-tech business centre.

So says Tony Wild MLC, the Department of Economic Development’s member with responsibility for employment and skills.

He was speaking after it was announced a special career academy is to be set up at Castle Rushen High School, where 10 students will undergo training to enter the ICT industry.

Mr Wild says it’s important to support the Island’s business sectors by making sure there are suitably skilled people to work in them:
