Demand currently outstripping resources, says Manx Care
If demand for cancer services on the Isle of Man continues to increase, it will impact other non-cancer services.
That's from Manx Care's Operations Director after the healthcare operator recorded its busiest ever month for cancer referrals, with 455 new patients registered in May.
The board has budgeted for a 3 per cent rise in demand, but cancer services are currently seeing a year-on-year increase of around 11 per cent.
Manx Care CEO Teresa Cope, Operations Director Oliver Radford and first Finance Director Jackie Lawless have been discussing the sustainability of the service:
Inquest into death of man who died in Hillberry crash opened
Reduced hours for a number of sub-Post Offices come into effect
Gas regulation bill criticised for lack of clarity, accountability and purpose
Housing, healthcare and overspending some of the concerns ahead of elections
