Website founder urges customers to be wary of deals that seem too good to be true
The head of a local online marketplace platform says the company is having to deal with attacks from an increasing number of scammers.
Chris Kelly founded Listit.im with his wife Tash following the closure of Manx Telecom's classified service.
Designed specifically for the Isle of Man, the site is constantly monitored for suspicious activity, but users are being urged to be aware of adverts that seem too good to be true and sellers that ask for deposits.
Mr Kelly says popular items listed by scammers include garden furniture and saunas, which may seem very cheap:
