Hill Search Team able to locate casualty quickly thanks to what3words
A Hill Search Team from the Isle of Man Fire and Rescue Service was called out to the incident shortly after 1pm.
Having been given the location via what3words, they were quickly able to find out where the casualty was.
What3words is an app which uses a code made up of three words to precisely locate a three-metre square area on a map.
Ambulance crews provided initial care on the scene and alongside officers from the Isle of Man Coastguard, the person was brought down from the mountain using a specialist stretcher.
Staff from the Snaefell Mountain Railway have been thanked for their assistance throughout the incident.
