The 14-year-old died following a serious incident in Ramsey last month

An inquest has been opened and adjourned into the death of a 14-year-old boy who was killed in Ramsey last month.

Christopher McBurnie from Castletown died on 29 May following a serious incident in Close Drean.

Another 14-year-old - who can't be named for legal reasons - has been charged with his murder.

In Douglas Courthouse today, Coroner of Inquests James Brooks opened Christopher's inquest.

A pathologist report confirmed he had suffered multiple stab wounds, with a wound to the chest being found to be his medical cause of death.

Christopher's body was released to his family so they could make the necessary funeral arrangements.

Mr Brooks offered his 'profound' condolences to the family, saying he 'can't express' what they must be feeling.

The inquest has been adjourned to a date to be fixed.
