Abuse to be further investigated by Tynwald
A series of oral hearings is to be held in public as part of an inquiry into historic child abuse in the Island.
The first part of the investigation was suspended last November, after news police were pursuing a fresh criminal lead.
That investigation was completed without further action, and the parliament-led inquiry resumed on 22 March, 2018.
Members of the Social Affairs Policy Review Committee were tasked with exploring child abuse following a Tynwald resolution in July 2017, relating to allegations centred on the former Knottfield Children's Home.
Knottfield closed in 1983.
On Thursday, 3 May, evidence will be heard from Christine Urquhart at 10am; John Guest at 10.45am; and Kerry Sharpe, MLC, at 11.30am.
On Friday, 18 May, Chief Constable Gary Roberts will give evidence at 11.30am; and the following Monday (21 May), the inquiry will hear from the Attorney General, John Quinn.
Members of the public are welcome to attend the hearing, which will take place in the Legislative Council Chambers, on Bucks Road in Douglas.
