Internet should be free, or close to it says MHK

Moorhouse set to query prices in Keys following constituency concerns

An Arbory, Castletown and Malew MHK says if Internet isn't free, it should be close to free.

Jason Moorhouse is set to ask in the House of Keys next week when Internet and communications prices were last reviewed by the Office of Fair Trading.

It comes after a constituency member expressed his concerns after he claimed he was being charged up to 47p per minute to ring his doctor for advice.

Mr Moorhouse believes Internet is a basic requirement and shouldn't become another item in the rising cost of living:

Manx Telecom has been given £10million by the government in an effort to roll out fibre broadband on a national scale.
