Continues to 'closely monitor' developments

The Isle of Man Government has welcomed the temporary ceasefire in the Middle East.

It says it's continuing to closely monitor developments in what it says remains a 'fragile situation'.

In a statement, government says despite the rise in fuel prices, petrol, gas and heating oil are still cheaper now than they were in 2022 after Russia invaded Ukraine.

It's also reiterated that there is still no issue with the supply of any fuel to the Island, and has thanked the public for avoiding unnecessary stockpiling.

Because of what government says is the 'potential inflationary impact' of the ongoing conflict, the treasury minister is still planning to provide an economic update to Tynwald later this month.

It adds that the interest, safety and wellbeing of Manx residents, both at home and abroad, is its first priority.
