IOMPO seeks new sub postmaster for Peel

Tender submissions close at the beginning of May

The Isle of Man Post Office is putting counter and parcel collection services in Peel out to tender.

A three-month ‘cool-off’ period has passed which would’ve enabled the sub-postmaster to revoke their termination notice.

IOMPO is hoping to secure a new sub postmaster to maintain counter, postal and bill payment services in Peel.

The authority says its ‘preferred’ outcome would be a single supplier covering both provisions, however, consideration will be given to applicants who can only deliver at least one of the services.

The fixed-term period will last until 31 March 2025 with the option to extend one year.

Chair of the organisation Stu Peters MHK said: This formal tender process builds on the more informal Requests for Information previously issued and based upon that feedback, IOMPO would feel confident in successfully appointing a new sub postmaster to continue to provide services to the community of Peel.”

The closing date for tender submissions is midday on 5 May 2023.
