MHK's comments come following Commons debate
An MHK says the Island must rise above the 'rhetoric' from other jurisdictions when its integrity is questioned under the international spotlight.
Lawrie Hooper was speaking to Manx Radio following the Sanctions and Anti-Money Laundering Bill debate in the House of Commons.
He agrees the Island can sometimes become a 'political football', but that regulations here are in many cases above the international expected standard already:
Ramsey and District Cottage Hospital closure 'inconvenient' but 'significant issues' need to be fixed
Four local authorities looking for by-election candidates
Reinstatement of home births 'remains at top of agenda' for Manx Care
Weekend sailings at risk
