It's been confirmed that a consortium led by Greenlight Television has been appointed as host broadcaster for the TT Races and Classic TT for the next five years.

The company will be supported by Isle of Man based HD satellite broadcaster SES and well-known company Duke Marketing, who have operated the IOM TT website for the last 17 years.

They've taken over from North One, who have held the contract for the last nine years, following a tender process.

Greenlight, who cover motorsport events across the world, will carry out immediate post-race editing at their Island HQ in Tromode.

Minister for Enterprise Laurence Skelly says he's looking forward to ushering in a "new era" for the event with the appointment, but has acknowledged the high standard of TV coverage by North One.

Speaking on Mandate this morning (Mon) Director of Greenlight, Dave Beynon, says it's been a long process, but preparations are now underway for 2018
