Island homeless charity facing unprecedented crisis

Housing Matters dealing with 171 open cases

A charity set up to provide emergency housing for those in desperate need says it's facing an unprecedented crisis.

Housing Matters is dealing with around 170 open cases.

That's compared to just 30 when it began its work five years ago.

The charity has thanked its 'loyal' landlords, and the team of local housing advisors, who offer support and advice to tenants.

But Julie Marshall, the homeless projects development manager, says it's a serious situation:

If you need to call Housing Matters you can do so on Freephone 0808 1624 100.
