Island needs 'vibrancy' to attract more young workers

Estimates show Island's population is expected to reach 92,000 in 2035

The Isle of Man needs a vibrant environment if it wants to keep young workers here.

That's from the chief minister after he was questioned in Tynwald about government's aim to grow the Manx population to 100,000.

It's estimated the figure will reach 92,000 by 2035.

The latest figures from government show around 35 percent of those who move to the Island leave within five years, with Alfred Cannan conceding some turnover is to be expected.

He told Manx Radio the right surroundings are needed to make the Island an appealing place for the younger generations:
