Isle of Man resident turns 108

She's believed to be the oldest resident on the Island

A woman from Ramsey - believed to be the oldest person on the Isle of Man - is celebrating her 108th birthday today (19 October).

Evelyn Teare was born in India, studied nursing in the UK and then moved to the Isle of Man with her Manx born husband, Douglas Teare, in 1976.

She now resides at the Grove Mount Residential Home, but reflected on her career:

Evelyn has three sons, six grandchildren, 12 great grandchildren, two great-great grandchildren.
