Ivy isn't making trees around the Isle of Man more vulnerable in bad weather conditions.
That's the view of the Manx Wildlife Trust after debate around the matter rose following recent storms which hit the Island.
Trees were brought down in numerous areas causing disruption to road users.
Andree Dubbeldam of MWT says ivy climbs dying trees to find extra light but that the plant isn't why trees become weaker.
