Manx travel agents say its the 'busiest time of year'

Have you booked your holidays yet?

In the UK, it's predicted 200,000 more residents will book their travels this month compared to the 4.3million who did so in January 2025.

And travel agencies on the Isle of Man say its no different here, with January being a 'peak time' for the industry.

While one company has already received enquiries for Christmas 2026, another has been assisting clients with European holidays.

Tony Lawrence at Vannin Travel has described January as the busiest period of the year; adding it's when customer demand is at its highest.

He says it shows confidence to travel off-Island has grown since the days of the Coronavirus pandemic:

Meanwhile, Edward Pearson of Manx Travel says they're assisting clients with cruise trips as well as flights to Italy, Turkey, Greece and Portugal:

In response to comments around the reliability of flights from Ronaldsway, the Isle of Man Airport has highlighted statistics which show a 'strong performance' in Summer 2025 - whilst acknowledging winter weather can bring "challenges".

Recent data from the UK Civil Aviation Authority shows "significant improvements in punctuality and operational resilience".

"Across the peak holiday months of July to September, the airport achieved an on-time performance of 76 percent, ranking third out of 25 airports - just behind Aberdeen (78 percent) and Liverpool (77 percent).

"For the entire summer period (1 April 2025 - 30 September 2025), the airport ranked fifth overall, with an on-time performance of 79 percent."
