47-year-old admits benefit fraud
A Colby woman will be sentenced in the summer after claiming more than £24,000 in benefits she wasn’t entitled to.
Emma Hearnden, of Croit-E-Caley, appeared at Douglas Courthouse where she admitted committing benefit fraud.
The 47-year-old failed to inform Treasury her circumstances had changed between 2019 and 2023 and made five false representations to obtain benefits.
It led to an overpayment of £24,236.34.
A social enquiry report has been requested before Hearnden is sentenced on 23 July; she’s been bailed until that date.
