All seven Island fire stations involved
Ceremonies were held at Island fire stations yesterday evening, as they were around the world, to mark the 30,000th playing of the Last Post in Ypres, Belgium.
The one in Douglas saw armed forces veterans, Royal British Legion representatives, emergency services representatives, some Tynwald members and Douglas councillors and other invited guests in attendance.
Ed Oldham also went along.
We'll begin by hearing an extract of the Last Post being played, and firstly part of a poem written for the occasion by a Belgian actor, as read by Chief Fire Officer Kevin Groom:
