Law Society doubts legal aid SAVE claims

Update on plans due in Tynwald

The Isle of Man Law Society says a government scheme designed to cut legal aid costs will in fact do the opposite.

Its president, Jane Gray, appeared on Sunday Opinion on Manx Radio to speak about the proposal.

The Public Defender scheme has been put forward as part of government's SAVE initiative, a progress report on which will be debated in Tynwald next week.
