MHK welcomes agreement between MMD and Onchan Commissioners
An MHK who has campaigned for Groudle Glen Waterwheel to be restored says news that work will soon get underway is the right result.
Local mining firm MMD has agreed to demolish and rebuild the wheel house, two years after Garff member Daphne Caine first raised the issue in the House of Keys.
Other options had been explored, including whether Onchan District Commissioners should sign the glen over to the Department of Environment, Food and Agriculture for £1.
Mrs Caine explains how the agreement with the Laxey company came about.
